A foam transport packaging is designed to pack your product as compactly as possible without compromising on protection. By firmly securing the product and absorbing shocks, you reduce the risk of transport damage and the packaging remains practical in handling and storage.
Protection tested
Based on product specifications and the desired protection, the required foam thickness is determined. Where necessary, this is substantiated with drop tests, so it is clear which structure and damping works best. Commonly used test heights are 0.5 meters, 1 meter and 1.5 meters, but this can be adjusted to the situation.
Materials and construction
Foam transport packaging can be constructed from different types of foam, depending on weight, vulnerability and use. For buffer and end pieces, sturdy, resilient foam types are often used, possibly also in an anti-static version. The basic parts are then cut or formed from sheet material using techniques such as die-cutting, water jet cutting or cutting, depending on the shape and desired batch size.
Complete packaging including box
A foam transport packaging can be supplied as a complete set, including a matching box. Buffer pieces slide around the product and ensure that the device is, as it were, “locked up” in the packaging. In combination with the box, this creates a stable solution with which products can be safely shipped, even with repeated transport.
Hard foam for compact and heavy transport
Solutions with hard foam are also possible for large or heavier products. Hard foam can carry more weight on a smaller surface than softer foam, allowing you to pack more compactly while maintaining protection. These parts can be accurately customized, for example by milling or water jet cutting.
Other transport solutions
In addition to foam transport packaging, there are also options with aluminum cases, aluminum boxes or flight case variants. Which solution is most suitable depends on your product, method of transport and desired handling.
