What types of case interiors are available?

Cases come in many types and sizes and are made from various materials. The possibilities for a custom case interior depend, among other things, on the products to be packaged. For instance, a foam interior is often not strong enough for large and heavy products. In such cases, a wooden partition system, which can be lined with foam if desired, is a better solution. Whether it involves a foam interior, wall lining, tie-down straps, or a partition system, we offer all possibilities.

Is there a difference between a custom case interior for an aluminum or a plastic case?

In principle, we can create a custom interior for any case. Aluminum cases have straight walls, while plastic cases are always slightly tapered. To ensure the interior fits perfectly, we slightly bevel the sides. Other than that, there is no difference between interiors for aluminum or plastic cases.

What should I take into account when designing a layout for a custom case interior?

When creating a layout, it is important that the walls between the various cutouts remain strong enough. Especially if cutouts need to be deeper than 100 mm, it is essential to make a wall in a hard foam case interior at least 15 mm thick. This maintains the stability of the walls. If we produce an interior using our milling machines, this thickness is also vital to prevent the walls from breaking during production. Furthermore, it is advisable to distribute the weight within a case properly. Heavy products should be well-distributed throughout the case or placed in the center.

What options are available for custom case lid interiors?

We always strive to utilize the space in the lid of the case as efficiently as possible. After all, ‘transporting air’ is costly and a waste of the required material. The two most efficient ways to utilize the space in the lid are:

• Equipping the case with a lid interior in which items or documents can be stored
• Making the base interior thicker so that it extends into the lid

If you prefer to fill the lid with convoluted foam, that is of course also possible.
